These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the website lawyaar.in and the mobile applications “Lawyaar” and “Lawyaar Lawyer” (collectively, the “Platform”), operated by Lawyaar, a registered partnership firm having its registered office at 84A, Selimpore Road, Dhakuria, Kolkata – 700031, India.
By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you:
are at least 18 years of age, and
have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must refrain from using the Platform.
Lawyaar is a technology intermediary.
We do not provide legal advice and do not practice law.
Legal services are provided independently by verified lawyers and professionals (“Professionals”).
Professionals are not employees, agents, or representatives of Lawyaar.
Lawyaar does not endorse, recommend, or guarantee any Professional or outcome.
Any lawyer-client relationship, if formed, is solely between you and the Professional.
You must provide true, accurate, and current information.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
You are responsible for all activity conducted through your account.
Lawyaar reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for misuse, false information, or violation of these Terms.
Through the Platform, users may:
discover legal professionals,
book consultations,
obtain document drafting or review services,
communicate with Professionals using platform tools.
Lawyaar does not guarantee that any consultation is suitable for your specific matter or that any outcome will be achieved.
All paid services require advance payment.
Payments are processed via third-party payment gateways.
Lawyaar does not store card or banking details.
Cancellations must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled service.
Eligible refunds are processed within 15 working days, subject to a processing fee (up to 10%).
No refund is available once a Professional has delivered the booked service.
You agree not to:
misuse the Platform for unlawful, deceptive, or harmful activities,
impersonate another person,
upload malicious code or disrupt platform security,
harvest data or contact details of other users,
bypass or circumvent the Platform for off-platform engagement.
Violations may result in suspension, termination, and legal action.
All communications, payments, and engagements initiated through the Platform must remain on the Platform, unless explicitly permitted in writing by Lawyaar.
Any attempt to bypass the Platform undermines platform integrity and may result in account termination and recovery of demonstrable losses.
All Platform content, software, branding, and design are the exclusive property of Lawyaar.
Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the Platform for personal, non-commercial use.
Unauthorized copying, scraping, reverse engineering, or commercial exploitation is prohibited.
Users retain ownership of their personal data.
By submitting content (queries, documents, messages), you grant Lawyaar a limited license to use such content solely for providing and improving services.
Publicly posted questions (if any) may be anonymised and used for educational or informational purposes.
Lawyaar processes personal data in accordance with:
the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), and
the GDPR, where applicable.
Your rights, data usage, retention, and grievance mechanisms are detailed in our Privacy Policy.
Services are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis.
Lawyaar makes no warranties regarding accuracy, outcomes, or suitability.
Lawyaar is not responsible for advice, actions, or omissions of Professionals.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Lawyaar shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Lawyaar’s total liability, if any, shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Lawyaar for the relevant service.
You agree to indemnify and hold Lawyaar harmless from claims arising from:
your misuse of the Platform,
violation of these Terms,
infringement of third-party rights.
Lawyaar may suspend or terminate access:
for breach of these Terms,
for unlawful or harmful activity,
to comply with legal obligations.
Termination does not affect accrued rights or obligations.
Lawyaar may update these Terms from time to time.
Material changes will be notified on the Platform. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
Courts at Kolkata, West Bengal, shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
